Okay, here's why I want this:
At work, we have 'Secret Pals' (we have drawn names and give our 'pals' little gifts every once in a while). Well, my secret pal specified on her 'About Me' form that she loves to knit...so I think this would make a great birthday gift for her - I would give it as a set and include the instructions from Lori.

Well, crocheting is more my passion. However, knitting has a neater, cleaner, look on sweaters and hats. I don't know how to knit. My mom tried to teach me a time or two. Now that I am a mother, I feel this call to make sweaters, hats, blankets and all yummy homemade things. So I'd love to get this wonderful "giveaway" so I could get started.

Ok ! I want it! I used to knit - in my single days, I even used to sell my knitwear. but since getting married and having a baby I just don't do it any more. about a year ago my neighbor asked me if I knew how to knit, I said sure! Her 15 year old daughter wanted to learn. So I packed up my knitting stuff and took it over. Taught her how to knit and gave her my stuff to use. Shortly after this she moved away and I never saw my knitting stuff again! Recently I have been looking at some cool knitting patterns for my daughter! And realized I have no knitting stuff anymore! Boy I could use this!

I have been knitting for 50 yrs and a Mom of 6 and grandma of 22 and 4 great grans with more to come. First there is no way I would make any thing for a kid never mind a baby with cotton or wool. If you like the pattern you can cut out the blocking step by using some type of synthetic yarn. (and you can rid the sweater of all poop and spit up by machine washing and drying) Second this pattern is easy knitting but the putting it together is not as easy. Third this pattern requires 2 skills both knitting and crocheting.
But the contest is great. And I hope whoever wins enjoys knitting many many articles.

This is a fantastic offering. My Nana spent countless hours trying to teach me to knit. For some reason, it was very difficult for me to master. Later, my dear friend, Dafne, tried again, but still, I was not able to catch on. Finally, I gave it one last try after watching DIY shows, and Voila! I can Knit!! Now, I don't want to stop. I am like a kid in a candy store with all the amazing yarns and fibers out there. It is really getting out of hand. Winning this is a terrific opportunity to add to my growing obsession.

Well, I'm sure once I'm more experienced in knitting, I'll have an excuse for more supplied no matter what, but as it stands, I'm fairly new to knitting and only have a few sizes of needles, so that's why I'd like to win! My two passions this year: reading in knitting. :-)

Another knitting newbie here! And I can only "borrow" so many of my mother's supplies...

Finally. I get the chance to tell the world how I have been wronged.
My sister is an accomplished knitter and I have *begged* her for ten years to please make me a fishermans knit sweater. She won't (gasp).
I've decided to take matters into my own hands and take knitting classes. Hence, I'll need tools!

I've sent you an email also but I didn't lament any more.

I had a student a few years ago (8th grader) who used to knit during study hall. She made stuff for her baby sister. And ever since, I've thought that I would love to know how to knit; and now that I'm an aunt (and someday, I'd like to be a mom, myself), I'd love to be able to knit, too! I think this giveaway looks like it offers a great way to start!

My first friend in my generation got pregnant in November, and now I am up to THREE pregnant friends, so this prize would be PERFECT for me! I am hoping to knit two sweaters, crochet a sweater, and knit and crochet various other accessories by this May. Also, you can see your button posted on my blog along with a blog entry, and I will tweet it as well. Hopefully that equals 4 total entries for me! Thanks!!

I want these supplies to give to my daughter. She recently moved back to our area with hubby and baby on the way. She asked me to teach her to knit because she wanted to make the baby a sweater. (she found a beginner pattern online) So far so good. I bought her a knitting bag to hold her supplies...she was using a grocery bag...ugly...so now it would be great to fill that bag with supplies! I'm off to see what the tutes were on..maybe I'll start something myself!
